MSP Comicon 2015 (SpringCon 2015) is another wonderful success!

So, this weekend was another great convention experience at the St Paul State Fairgrounds! I met so many great new friends, and had a blast hanging out with old ones. Saturday was quite busy, and I enjoyed seeing a lot of people stopping at my table. I sold quite a bit, including stuff to returning customers. I love seeing people come back and tell me they sought out my table. It's really humbling and makes creating all worth it. One of my favorite transactions was a couple who had previously bought some clay Hellboy and Cthulhu items from me, and brought home a Hellboy bust and Right Hand of Doom of mine this time around. I also donated my favorite bust I've ever made to the benefit auction today (pictured below), and while it sold for a low price, I was more than happy that a little girl apparently bought it and loved it. So, that made me extremely happy! Very cool! I also LOVE seeing all the great cosplayers who put in so much time and talent into making some truly cool costumes. One of my favorites this year, a shockingly accurate Goon, is pictured here. He is really inspiring me to make my comic book version Hellboy costume so we can have a real life Dark Horse team up! Anyway, I am so grateful for all the great people who made this past few days so memorable and fun!

Calvin and Hobbes in Super Sculpey!!!

So, here is a sculpture I made for my sister some years back, based on one of my favorite Calvin and Hobbes snowman strips. I have been asked if I would make more to sell, and oddly enough, I had been getting the itch to make more. So, why not..?!

SpringCon 2014!!! WooHoo!!!

So, once again, I have been given the opportunity to peddle my goofy little comics and clay things at the St. Paul Fairgrounds in just a scant couple of weeks at this year's SpringCon! I am very excited, and just wish I could get my procrastinating butt in gear and crank out what I planned for this year's show. Anyway, come on out either day and say HI! I would love to see you, and I guarantee between ALL the talented creators and great vendors there, you'll have a blast!

Retail Funnies!!!

Who would've thought that working retail would provide so many comic strip ideas? Oh, yeah. Just about ANYONE who has worked retail, I guess. Well, to all those who have served, these are for you! Enjoy!

Bob Belcher's family captured in Super Sculpey clay

Here are a few photos of some clay figurines I made of the family from one of my favorite cartoon shows, Bob's Burgers. It started out as a project just for my own whimsey, and born out of frustration over lack of any Bob's Burgers merchandise. I soon found a fellow fan who also bemoaned a lack of licensed toys, and who decided to purchase this set from me. So, it's back to the clay factory for my own set, I guess...
